University of Glasgow to create educational VR platform

lundi 12 novembre 2018

A project which aims to bring virtual realty (VR) into classrooms has received £1m ($1.3m) in funding to help it build an education VR platform. Named Project Mobius, the pilot program will last three years while students and academics running it create teaching apps and lectures to be utilized on the platform.

The University of Glasgow, where the platform is to be built, first plans to build two VR labs capable of handling 15 students at a time, exposing them to enhanced learning experiences through the latest VR tech.

"This technology will allow students to travel inside a human body or take a visit to an important geological area from their lecture," explained research fellow in VR and augmented reality (AR), Dr Neil McDonnell.
